According to sources, Lakka Soudamini was going to National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) works for the last four days. On Thursday when she was working, co-worker M Prabhakar dug the gravel with crowbar. The crowbar hit her hand. She struggled for some time. The labourers tried to remove the crowbar, but in vain. Then the other workers took her to Eluru Government Hospital. She was given anesthesia before forcefully removing the crow bar. Dr V Vijayanirmala removed the crow bar from her hand by pressing both sides of the hand and shifted her to ward. An X-ray of her palm will be taken on Friday to know her condition. It was horrible scene at the hospital as the patient struggled in pain when doctors removed the crowbar by using force.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that when the crowbar hit the hand of Soudamini, the other worker Prabhakara Rao fainted and fell unconscious after seeing the blood. He was admitted in a private hospital.
