Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will soon distribute 20,000 house pattas to beneficiaries in the district under regularisation of encroached government lands below 100 yards, informed HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. Addressing the members of city unit of Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists’ Federation at a function ‘Ugadi Sambaralu’ held here on Sunday, the Minister said that all deserved beneficiaries who had applied as per the GO, would be given pattas.

In the Central Government’s scheme of ‘Housing for All’ announced, Andhra Pradesh was allotted six lakh houses and the CM would launch the construction work on April 14. Claiming that the TDP Government was committed for the welfare of journalists, he said that accreditation and health cards were already given and a new insurance scheme was also introduced in which the scribe shall have to pay Rs 198 as his premium and the remaining will be borne by the government.

In case of any accidental death, the beneficiary will be paid Rs 10 lakh, he added. He also assured that the journalists’ site issue at Timmapuram would also be resolved. Cultural events were also organised and the Federation State secretary Gantla Sreenu Babu presided. Simhachalam temple EO K Ramachandra Mohan, former Vice-Chancellor of AU Prof G S N Raju and senior journalist Bulusu Prabhakar Sarma were also present.
