Kurnool: Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy on Tuesday said the Telugu Desam government was committed to the welfare of Backward Classes as the party never forgot the fact that it came to power in the State with their support. Addressing a news conference at the State Guest House here, he said the BC Sub-Plan was evolved to ensure their economic uplift.

The TDP government earmarked more than Rs 8,000 crore in the State budget for BC welfare. He alleged that YSR Congress Party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy completely ignored the welfare of BCs in the State. The Opposition leader tried to get the YSRCP MLAs, who crossed the floor attracted by the development works initiated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, disqualified.

But Jagan did not succeed in his undemocratic attempts because the TDP government got the people’s mandate, the Deputy Chief Minister said.
