Visakhapatnam: Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal asked the district officials to prepare voters list and polling centres list by April 11. Addressing a meeting with Collectors and other senior officials of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts, here on Wednesday, Lal said the list should be ready by April 11 since there is a meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner of India on April 12.

Details should be uploaded to Najri Naksha, he said. Lal announced that every year survey was conducted and the voter’s name and Aadhar card has been synchronised. So far 90 per cent of the enlistment has been completed. He said every house should be identified in particular polling centre of every assembly segment and the boundaries should be earmarked.

Geo-tagging should be done to the polling centres. Visakhapatnam Collector Dr N Yuvaraj said due to technical problems, polling centre and house numbers could not be changed. He told the CEO that the Visakhapatnam is spread over eight assembly segments and of them all four segments and Gajuwaka come under the city, while parts of Bhimili, Pendurthy and Anakapalle fall under the city.

These three segments have a population of 4.50 lakh houses. Around 556 tabs were being used to upload the details of the voters and polling centres. He said talks were on with the heads of airport, Eastern Naval Command and Visakhapatnam Port Trust for uploading the voters names and polling centres.

Similarly, electoral officers of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and East Godavari districts briefed the CEO on the work they have completed till date.
