Anantapur: Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha stated that she deemed it a privilege to serve the poorer sections of the society through the ration distribution to the poor and thanked the Chief Minister for conferring on her the honour to serve the poor.
Participating in the programme ‘Mee Intiki Mee ration’ at Kotaganikaluva village in rural Anantapur mandal here on Thursday, Sunitha said that the scheme is conceived for the benefit of helpless, sick and aged white card holders, who are confined to their beds and cannot come to the ration shops to collect their essential commodities.
The Minister along with the Joint Collector Sayed Basha Moyiddin went down to the house of white card holder Harijana Chenappa and handed over the essential commodities to him. Speaking on the occasion, Sunitha said that the scheme is confined to helpless men and women, who are single and have none to help them. She said that about 4,134 such beneficiaries have been identified. The commodities will be sent to their homes every month by the seventh. About 1.40 crore card holders are supplied ration through e-PoS between 1st to 15th of every month. The Minister said that the people are happy at the effective public distribution system being implemented by the TDP
government.
