Ex-municipal councillor demands vigilance probe into civic works
Former Municipal Councillor Dusarlapudi Ramana Raju on Sunday asked the government to order a vigilance probe into the alleged irregularities in civic works in the last two years. Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he alleged that Additional Commissioner S Govinda Swamy while discharging his duties as In-charge Commissioner was involved in corrupt practices.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he alleged that Additional Commissioner S Govinda Swamy while discharging his duties as In-charge Commissioner was involved in corrupt practices.

He said the government should order for a vigilance inquiry into the civic works undertaken during the tenure of Govinda Swamy for unearthing financial irregularities. He alleged siphoning off of public money by Govinda Swamy. He also alleged irregularities in laying of cement road on Krishnamurthy Road in Suryarao Peta.
He said the road had developed cracks and the top had given way within months of it being made operational. He also alleged that Govinda Swamy is enjoying the support of MLA V Venkateswara Rao.
