Karapa (East Godavari): Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said in total 81 PHCs across the State will soon have new buildings to be taken up with a cost of Rs 101 crore. While participating in the inauguration of ANM training centre constructed with a cost of Rs 2.30 crore at mandal headquarters Karapa on Sunday , the Minister shared these details.

The Minister also said that each of these 81 PHC buildings will be taken up with a cost of Rs 1.20 crore per centre including Karapa PHC, he added. He also said that efforts are being made to construct new buildings for government hospital’s where ever necessary. The Minister said that in total 1,900 doctor posts were filled at various hospitals to provide best medical facilities for patients in the State.

Turning his attention towards maintenance of sophisticated equipment in government hospitals and PHCs, the Minister said that maintenance of these 56,000 instruments was entrusted to an agency at a cost of Rs 50 crore. He said that apart from X- ray, CT scan will also be available at all PHCs free of cost. Kakinada Rural MLA, P Ananthalakshmi, DMHO Dr. P Umasundari and others participated.
