Kakinada: Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya said that apart from provision of uniform minimum wages at national level, efforts were being made to provide social security to workers in unorganised sector.

The Minister, who made official visit o ESIC (Employees State Insurance Corporation) dispensary at Sambamurthy Nagar here on Monday, spoke to the media. He said that the dispensary which is in eight acre area would be upgraded into a 100-bed hospital at a cost of Rs 100 crore in a phased manner in the next two years. He said that this is part of provision of super-specialty care.

The Minister also said that out of 77 ESIC hospitals in AP, only 18 have own buildings. He assured to construct own buildings to all the dispensaries if the State government comes forward to provide site. Regional Director of ESIC hospitals R S Rao, Kakinada MLA V Venkateswara Rao and others were present.
