Nellore: District SP Vishal Gunni launched Mana Vooru-Mana Police programme here on Monday in which all police personnel from rank of SP to Sub-Inspector level can adopt villages.

After launching the programme, the SP said that all SIs involved in the village adoption programme would stay in the adopted village twice in a month and interact with local population to know their problems. The Circle Inspector to SP level officials would stay at least once in a month in the village and conduct awareness sessions among the people, he added.

Vishal said only IAS, IPS and Group-1 cadre officials were involved in the village adoption programme till now and CIs and SIs were also roped in the district for the first time. The SP said constables can also be part of village adoption programme.
