Tributes paid to Dr B R Ambedkar
The 125th birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar was celebrated on a grand scale in the town on Thursday. Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy garlanded the statue of Ambedkar and paid glowing tributes to the Father of Indian Constitution. Speaking on the occasion, he underlined the need to focus on economic uplift of the downtrodden.

The MLA appealed to youth to strive for eradication of social inequalities in society by following the ideals of Ambedkar, who strove for social justice during his lifetime. Atmakur DSP K Supraja participated in the birth anniversary celebrations at Siddhapuram village. She distributed cricket and volleyball kits to the village youth on the occasion.
The SC, ST Welfare Association celebrated the birth anniversary of Ambedkar at the RTC depot. The birth anniversary celebrations were held at all the government departments in Atmakur, Velugodu, Mahanandi, Bandi Atmakur and Srisailam mandals.
