The Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF) have named out its new sub-committee of Media and Entertainment sector’s chairman Y V Ratna Kumar, who is the Managing Director of APIMS India Private Limited.

The APCCIF made an announcement regarding their contribution towards the Media and Entertainment sectors, to promote inclusive growth and generate opportunities for the people. Addressing the news reporters here at a hotel on Tuesday, president elect of APCCIF Muthavarapu Murali Krishna said, “The chambers have designed several sub-committees to project every aspect of growth in the State for an overall development.

As many as 11 sub-committees like infrastructure, agro-allied industries, trade and commerce, tourism, hospitality sectors were already formed. Media and Entertainment is a sector which is of high potential and we see a high scope for it. This might also enable our educated youth of opportunities. The new sector under the leadership of YV Ratna Kumar will look into its development,” he added.

Executive director of APCCIF Potluri Bhaskara Rao, speaking on the occasion mentioned that the Media and Film industry has emerged as one of the major sectors in the United Andhra Pradesh, which isbecause many investors of the field hail from the coastal districts. The new sub-committee will focus on improving the Animation and gaming prospects, other opportunities in the respective field.

The agenda is to invite global investors to the region. Sanction of National Institute of Design (NID) to the region is another boon for the sub-committee as well as the institute to explore abundant opportunities in this area, he said.

The members of the sub -committee include Potluri Saibabu, V Rama Krishna, Vinod Kumar from the Animation department, Ch Sridhar from the Cultural, cinema and event management discipline and another three from the Film and Television fields, he added.

Chairman of the sub-committee Y V Ratna Kumar said, “Within another 200 days, people of the city will notice tremendous change in the respective field. ACCI has come forward to offer their support in this aspect and we are very keen to bring out a new policy for the Media and Entertainment, which was earlier proposed in 2010 in the undivided State.

We would discuss with experts from the field and come out with a draft proposal that will be submitted to the government for consideration.” On the occasion, Ratna Kumar also made an appeal to the film producers and entertainment houses to ensure that the Andhra Pradesh State is hosting the feature film events like audio-releases, disc functions and others.
