CM to lay foundation for Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Training centre today

All set for the foundation laying ceremony for construction of Central Institute of Plastics Engineering  and Training  (CIPET) centre at Surampalli village of Gannavaram mandal on Friday. Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar and the Chief Minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, will lay the foundation at 4 pm. Surampalli is located between Vijayawada and Nuzvid route.

Vijayawada: All set for the foundation laying ceremony for construction of Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Training (CIPET) centre at Surampalli village of Gannavaram mandal on Friday. Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar and the Chief Minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, will lay the foundation at 4 pm. Surampalli is located between Vijayawada and Nuzvid route.

The Central Govt will spend Rs 50.73 crore for construction of CIPET centre in the 12 acres land, which was allotted by State Government. Earlier, the CIPET centre was installed last year in Kanuru village and functioning on a rented premises. Now, the Central Government had allocated funds for construction of the centre in own building, which will be gradually transformed into big centre that involves training, skill development, Research and Development.

Krishna District Collector Babu A on Thursday inspected the site for foundation laying ceremony. Helipad and other arrangements are being made on war-footing. Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu, P Ashok Gajapati Raju, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana, Gannavaram MLA V Vamsi and officials of revenue, industries, CIPET and other departments will attend the event on Friday evening.

District Collector Babu A, speaking on the occasion, said the CIPET was a prestigious organisation and would provide skill development and training to the unemployed youth. He said diploma, under graduate and graduate courses would be offered later. He said the district administration was providing basic amenities for construction of CIPET centre and appealed to the local youth to make use of the centre.

He said the demand for plastic products in India was increasing over the years and hoped the plastic processing industry in Krishna district would generate employment in the coming years.
