Visakha will be a solar hub: MP
BJP MP Kambampati Hari Babu convened an awareness programme for the promotion of solar power and roof top solar net metering here on Monday. SPV Solar Roof Top Net Metering channel participants, suppliers, manufacturers, bankers and insurance companies and representatives from the residential welfare association attended the meeting.

The MP said that soon Visakhapatnam city will become solar roof top hub. The Centre and State government are taking this project as prestigious manner and providing 50 per cent subsidy to the consumers. Therefore, people may come forward and can utilise this opportunity. He urged the bankers and insurers to act liberally when consumers approach them.
He further said that 1.45 megawatt solar power is being produced now in Visakhapatnam and the next target is to reach 100 megawatt solar power by this end of the year. APEPDCL Director (operations) B Seshu Kumar said that APEPDCL encouraging Roof Top Solar Net Metering.
Interested people may contact the customer care number 1912 for any assistance. Most of those consumers who have registered for roof top solar net metering at time of Solar Expo 2015, have been cleared and installed so far. The remaining will be completed soon.
