Ex-TTD board member Doraswamy violates Tirumala temple rules

Tirupati: “Dharmo Rakshati Rakshaka “ is what is written all over in Tirumala but when it comes to its implementation, the authorities do not seem adhere to it. It appears there are two different norms being practiced- one for the common man and another for the VIPs, allege devotees.
Even a major breach of temple rules by a VIP is left without taking any action and the axe falls on a junior employee. This is exactly what has happened on Friday at the holy shrine.
A car belonging to the former TTD trust board member Doraswamy Raju and producer of Telugu film Annamayya went upto the temple around 8 am to pick up Raju after the darshan.
As the issue raked up a major protest and controversy, the authorities simply tried to wash off their hands by terming it as a security lapse and surrendered the services of the two home guards Srinivasan and Annadurai who were on duty at the temple main entrance area to their parent department (police department) and also recommended severe action on the erring home guards.
Instead of initiating action against Doraswamy Raju for violating temple security norms. In fact, no one can walk with chappals on in that area and surely it cannot be brushed off as an act of ignorance since Raju was a member of the TTD, say the devotees.
According to sources, the security personnel stopped the vehicle only after it drove into the prohibited area near main entrance area and added it is surprising to note that despite several security points in between the Rambageecha area and adjacent temple zone, the vehicle could pass on up to the temple zone without any interruption indicating that it cannot be dismissed off as mere security lapse.
It is learnt that the car driver passed the first security point(gate) at Rambagicha 1, informing the security personnel at the gate to allow the car as Raju was not feeling well and not in a position to walk the distance from the shrine to the Rambagicha area where the VIP vehicles are parked.
