Solar park to come up at Kanigiri

Ongole: In a bid to turn Chief Minister’s promises true, the officials of Prakasam district started searching for land in Martur and surrounding areas to set up Horticulture University, food and textile parks here.
Being the bordering village of Guntur and Prakasam districts, Martur is located at an equal distance from Ongole and Guntur. It is very near to the Chilakaluripet,
Assembly constituency of Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao. There is an increasing pressure from the people of this district and forums like Prakasam Jilla Abhivruddhi Vedika to fulfill the promises made by Chandrababu Naidu and Pulla Rao to set up university and other industrial zones.
Prakasam District Collector Sujatha Sharma ordered the revenue officials on Friday to identify land for the proposed Horticulture University, food park and textile park in coordination with the local RDO immediately. She also directed the officials to take necessary steps to establish solar park at Kanigiri, food processing unit at Kovilampadu of CS Puram mandal, Shilparamam at Ongole, 33/11KV substation and Veterinary University at Chintala village of Dornala mandal.
Sharma asked the officials to complete work on other projects like CC roads, drainage system in Kanigiri, Nagulapalem of Parchur mandal, Polavaram in Mundlamuru mandal, four lane roads of Ongole to Kothapatnam road, road expansion between Tangutur and Podili, water supply to Rallapadu project from left feeder channel of Somasila project, construction of Ramayapatnam port, setting up of mining university, summer storage tank at Kanigiri and development of Bhairavakona and Kothapatnam beaches as tourist attractions.
