98 teachers transferred

​Nandyal: In a major shuffle, 98 teachers working in primary, upper primary and high schools in the municipality have been transferred. There are 37 municipal schools in the town with a teacher strength of 183.

Municipal commissioner A Satyanarayana Rao ordered the transfer of teachers after conducting counselling here on Saturday. As many as 69 primary and upper primary school teachers and 29 high school teachers were transferred to the schools of their choice in the town based on seniority and other criteria.

Teachers, who were working at one place for more than five years, were shifted to other municipal schools. The Municipal Commissioner said the transfer of teachers en masse was done in a transparent manner.
