​Vijayawada: CPI State Secretary K Ramakrishna on Sunday has written a letter to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu urging him to establish a cultural centre at Amaravati capital in the memory of former legislator Vemulapalli Sri Krishna. In a press release here, Ramakrishna recalled the efforts taken by the former legislator in promoting the Telugu life, literature and art by composing a song titled ‘Cheyyethi Jai Kottu Telugoda’ in the days of freedom struggle.

The veteran Communist leader elected as legislator for two consecutive terms from Mangalagiri constituency, which is now part of the Amaravati capital. The Chief Minister should consider the appeal and establish a cultural centre in the capital region on the lines of Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad, he urged.
