Jammalamadugu (Kadapa): A poor student, Ogeti Sudarshan from Jammalamadugu has excelled in the second year Intermediate results by securing 985 marks out of 1,000 in MPC stream. His parents Subramanyam and Ramadevi are living in abject poverty. Sudarshan’s ailing father earns daily income by selling bananas on a pushcart at old RTC bus stand here.

The management of Vivekananda Junior College here has offered free education for Sudarshan as they found he was having zeal to continue studies after completion of tenth standard. Sudarshan had secured 437 marks in Inter first year exams and stood in sixth place in the entire State. The college management and staff, neighbours and friends have been appreciating him for his interest in studies.

Sudarshan is the eldest of three children in his family. His father, earlier, worked as a private vehicle driver. After he became ill, Subramanyam has been selling bananas to eke out a living. The family lives in PK Ramaiah Street in Jammalamadugu. Speaking to The Hans India here on Saturday, Sudarshan said that his dream is to become an engineer and provide better life to his parents and siblings. Sudarshan’s father Subramanyam said that his son should become a responsible citizen and support poor people.
