Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, the former MP alleged that the former DG of Hydrous based at Hyderabad was also involved in the entire episode. Harsha revealed that as the issue is in both High Court and in Supreme Court, he cannot elaborate on the issue further. The former MP said that he would be meeting East Godavari SP on the issue again to know the status of his complaint.

Turning his attention towards the proposed installation of Dr B R Ambedkar statue at Amravati, the former MP wanted to know the mode of funds-mobilising for this purpose. He advised the TDP government not to utilise SC/ST Sub-plan funds but opt for general funds. He said that he has written an open letter to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on the issues of removal of Ambedkar statues at some villages in East Godavari and West Godavari districts and other issues over suppressing the rights of Dalits.

He also alleged that in the recent incidents at Kolimileru in Tuni mandal and in Pata Tungapadu in Rajanagaram mandal in East Godavari, two Dalits were forced to commit suicide by TDP activists. He deplored such incidents in the year of 125th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Ambedkar.

He also said that several eligible Dalit officers were superseded in promotions by TDP government in favour of much junior officers of forward castes. Former Kakinada mayor P Saroja and N Mohandas were present.
