Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reaffirmed that a tri-industrial corridor between Tirupati, Nellore and Chennai will be developed to promote industries for generating more jobs.
Speaking after inaugurating the multinational company Mondelez (formerly Cadbury) manufacturing facility in Sri City, 100 km from here, on Monday, Chief Minister said that the proposed tri-industrial corridor which is well connected by road, rail and port facilities is ideal location for setting up industries as strong work force is also available abundantly in the area. “The government on its part will provide all the support for attracting investments by providing basic infrastructure like land and water,” he added. Naidu said any unrest will deter the industries coming here while stressing on the people on maintaining peaceful congenial environment for inducing more investments for employment. He sought the people not to indulge in anything inimical to industrial peace and added that any unrest will send wrong signals affecting industrial growth.
The Chief Minister sought the Mondelez India Foods Private Limited (MIFPL) management to take up the required measures to expand the crop area of cocoa, the raw material required for making chocolate, which is about 25,000 acres now in West and East Godavari to one lakh acres in the coming days for the benefit of the farmers. Besides, he also wanted the firm to benefit the milk farmers, who are producing 30 lakh litres a day. He said that Chittoor district is one of the largest milk producers in the State. He also made an appeal to MIFPL to promote tourism more so for children by developing recreation and children play centre in Sri City area as part of its corporate social responsibility activities.
The Chief Minister lauded the Sri City management for its impressive growth which he said was evident with 80 operational units now while 40 more to be added soon. He wanted Sri City management to focus on skill development programmes for the benefit of the rural youth. “Sri City is soon going to be the best industrial park in the country,” Naidu said assuring government support for construction of 5,000 houses in the area for the benefit of the employees, who are working in various companies located in the industrial park.
Minister for Environment and Forests Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, MLA Talari Aditya, Sri City Chairman Srini Raju, Sri City Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy, APIIC Chairman Krishnaiah and others were present.
