The Andhra Pradesh Election Commission (TSEC) registered Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena party as an authorised political party. The Election Commission registered the Jana Sena party without a reserved symbol.

On December 10, Pawan Kalyan applied to the EC for his party's recognition in AP. After processing his request, the EC asked the public if they had any objections. One person named D Krishna from Gajjanapadu village of Prattipadu mandal in East Godavari raised a few objections. The EC sought Jana Sena's opinion. After going through the reply given by the Jana Sena party, the EC expressed satisfaction over the answers and felt that there won't be any legal hurdles.

The EC told the Jana Sena that the registration shall not entitle the party for reservation of any exclusive symbol for it.
