Vijayawada: Here is some good news for the farmers of the capital villages who have given their lands for building Amaravati city. The State government had finalised the land policy in the new capital Amaravati region.

The farmers who have given their lands would get their share of plots, both residential and housing, in their own village. This decision had cleared all doubts of the farmers about their share of plots as rumours were making rounds that the farmers would be given plots away from the core capital area, which could have been a losing proposition.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had directed the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) to prepare a list of the farmers and the due share of plots to be given to them.

He had also directed the CRDA to work out the process to allot the plots in the villages where they have given their lands. The CRDA had now began the work to consolidate the list and match it with master plan.

In fact, the Chief Minister, after the inauguration of the temporary Secretariat at Velagapudi, had also announced additional 50 square yards of land per acre for the farmers. This announcement had come as a blessing for them as the additional yards is an added advantage.

The CRDA would also now allocate plots to the farmers as a group, who could go for commercial ventures in their plots. The CRDA was directed to get the required consent letters from the farmers for the allocation of plots if they wanted combined plots.
