Organisations like Green Army Social Organisation, Welfare Party of India, Patanjali Yoga Samiti have joined hands to contribute water after seeing a Facebook distress message a few days ago.

The Shirdi Express leaves Kakinada Port Station for Shirdi on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Volunteers of the Green Army Social Organisation, Welfare Party of India, Patanjali Yoga Samiti on Monday mobilised 2,000 litres of water packets and send them by Shirdi Express.

A spokesman of the Green Army Social Organisation told The Hans India that the severe water shortage problem was not confined to Latur alone; it was an issue facing many areas across the country. He advocated the need for growing trees to protect the environment, thus prevent facing of such problem in future.

Following the success achieved by the three organisations in their first attempt, representatives of several NGOs are getting ready to mobilise water to be dispatched to Latur.

These representatives have managed to convince organisers, besides people, of birthday parties and other events to set apart a portion of their expenditure for sending water to Latur.

Devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba have appealed to the people of Krishna and Godavari districts to make use of the opportunity to contribute water to the needy residents of Latur.
