Collector pulls up officials

Vijayawada: Krishna District Collector Babu A has pulled up the fisheries and other department officials for not issuing licenses to the
eligible applicants for aqua cultivation in Krishna district. He expressed ire on the mandal-level officials for not visiting the villages and
submitting a report for issuing the licenses to the applicants.

He said all mandal-level officials must visit the villages and verify the land, area, village, survey number and other details required to
issue the license for aqua cultivation. He said the officials were not doing the field work at mandal. As a result, over 6,000 applications
were pending in the district.

The Collector on Wednesday conducted a meeting here and reviewed the progress on issuing license for aqua cultivation. Officials of
fisheries, agriculture, ground water, revenue and other departments attended the meeting. Babu A has said as many as 6,658 applicants
were waiting for the licenses. He said earlier, license was given to 12 applicants and 153 applicants.
