Visakhapatnam: As part of Swachh Agency programme following the guidelines of Swachh Bharat Mission, officials of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) and public representatives led by Project Officer M Harinarayanan and Sub-Collector Siva Sankar Toleti cleaned the drains and roads on the eve of Goddess Moda Kondamma annual Jatara at Paderu in Visakha Agency on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a four-member TTD team arrived in Paderu on Saturday to present Pattu Vastrams to Goddess Moda Kondamma on Sunday as the State government has declared the Jatara as the State festival for the first time and sanctioned a sum of Rs 50 lakh for the conduct of the festival.

Later, the Project Officer convened a meeting with the officials and Moda Kondamma Annual Jatara Festival Committee members to review the arrangements for a three-day festival beginning from Sunday at Paderu. He reviewed sanitation and facilities like water, power, first-aid and temporary toilets at the temple area where thousands of tribals will throng.

The Divisional Panchayat Officer was asked to deploy more sanitary workers to clean the temple surroundings and ASP Sasi Kumar told the Project Officer that necessary steps have been taken to maintain law and order by setting up of 32 CCTV cameras at all vulnerable areas.
