Eluru: West Godavari District Collector K Bhaskar has directed the officials to sanction permission to the eligible entrepreneurs to set up
industries in the district.

He was presiding over the Industrial Promotion Committee meeting held at Collectorate on Wednesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Collector grilled the officials on non-clearance of 49 applications for the last three months. “You are saying
every time that a meeting at Hyderabad has to be held to sanction the industries.

For the last three months, these 49 applications are pending in the dashboard,” the Collector said.

He also questioned the officials when these applications would be cleared. “The Industries Commissioner has clarified that no application
is pending with them. Then why you are keeping the applications in pending?” the Collector expressed his anger.

He directed the District Industries Centre General Manager Triumurtulu to clear the 49 applications by next week meeting. He said during
last week, applications for 12 industries were received.

Out of them, 10 applications had been cleared. Another two were pending with the industries department.
