Visakhapatnam: Maoists called for bandh on May 16 in protest against encounter in Marripakala in which three activists were killed.
In a press note sent to the Agency reporters in the name of Maoist East Division on Wednesday, the Maoists said with the help of police
informers and people’s enemies, the police surrounded the area where the Maoists were taking rest and indiscriminately opened fire
killing them on the spot. The letter stated that the police are creating a warlike situation in the Agency in order to pave way for bauxite
mining.
