Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association to petition AP CM

Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association will organize Olympic Day Run in every district of the State from June 23. The run will continue for a period of seven days, said the general secretary of APOA, RK Purushotham.

Addressing the news reporters here on Sunday, Purushotham expressed agony over the way Chairman of Sports Authority of AP (SAAP) is neglecting the duly recognised body of APOA.

“Chairman Rekha Rani is not in any correspondence with the association which is recognised by Indian Olympic Association (IOA) under the leadership of MP Jayadev Galla. We are deprived of any information regarding the events and not approached. We all are condemning the claims of another Olympic Association that is being supported by Rekha Rani.”

Purushotham said that APOA headed by Jayadev Galla is duly recognised and affiliated body of the IOA. K Padmanabham is elected as the treasurer of APOA. K Murugan and Ravindra Babu from SAP observed the elections and witnessed it.

Who is Pavan Kumar Reddy that claims as general secretary of APOA? It is not fair that he claims to have rights on Olympic Bhavan. This cannot happen without the involvement of SAAP Chairman. The APOA is going to meet Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu over the issue within first week of June, he said.
