The Congress here on Tuesday accused the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders of killing a Dalit leader at Akkapalem village of Tiruvur in Krishna district. The APCC general secretary, P Rajiv Ratan, said that the TDP leaders from the village have hired five persons and killed the Dalit leader, Domatoti Nageswara Rao, five days ago. 

Vijayawada: The Congress here on Tuesday accused the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders of killing a Dalit leader at Akkapalem village of Tiruvur in Krishna district. The APCC general secretary, P Rajiv Ratan, said that the TDP leaders from the village have hired five persons and killed the Dalit leader, Domatoti Nageswara Rao, five days ago.

Nageswara Rao’s wife, Venkata Ramana, is the sarpanch of the village and he had been an active member of the Congress and also the RTI activist in the area. Rajiv Ratan said that Nageswara Rao had complained to the police several times fearing threat to his life from the TDP leaders.

The Congress leader said that the police have already arrested the hired goons who killed Nageswara Rao, but were not taking action against the TDP leaders who hired these goons. He also demanded that the police include the names of the TDP leaders in the FIR and arrest them.
