Tirupati: Director General of Police (DGP) J V Ramudu on Monday inspected Nehru Municipal High School (NMHS) grounds here before holding a discussion with senior police officials and TDP functionaries on the security arrangements at the venue.
The DGP maintained that necessary measures will be taken to ensure no inconvenience is caused to the people visiting the hospitals near the school.

Accordingly, all the VIP vehicles except Chief Minister and his convoy were allotted separate parking away from the hospitals and necessary instruction were also issued to ensure those coming to the hospital are in no way face difficulty. He said adequate security arrangements were made at the Mahanadu venue and also in the pilgrim city keeping in view that Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues staying here for three days in connection with the TDP Mahanadu. While at the same time, there will be no inconvenience to the pilgrims visiting Tirumala due to the more number of VVIP and VIPS presence.

According to sources, senior police officers were deputed to oversee various aspects including traffic, security at the Mahanadu main stage and food court in the Mahanadu. Chittoor SP G Srinivas will look after the security arrangements at main stage area, Anantapur SP Rajasekhar city traffic, SP Ramakrishna at food court area and Tirupati Urban SP Jayalakshmi will be overall coordinator of the security arrangements. Meanwhile, Minister for Environment and Forests B Gopalakrishna Reddy held a meeting with the heads of various committees set up by the party for the successful conduct of the Mahanadu and reviewed the progress of the arrangements made so far.

‘Properties of red sanders smugglers will be attached’
DGP Ramudu said that the state police have initiated measures for the attachment of the properties of the proclaimed red sanders smugglers. As part of deterrent measures to end red sanders smuggling from the Seshachalam forest, the confiscation of the properties of the smugglers will be taken up he said adding that now the police were empowered for attachment of the properties of the smugglers thanks to the change recently brought by the government. To begin with, the properties of those arrested under the PD act will be taken up, he averred.
