Tirupati: With the success of Rs 300 special entry darshan after the construction of new waiting complex, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao instructed the engineering officials to work on the modalities to construct similar complex even for pedestrian pilgrims. During a review meeting held with senior officials at Annamayya Bhavan in Tirumala, the EO directed the officials concerned to find out two or three suitable places in Tirumala to construct a waiting complex even for footpath route pilgrims and come up with options in a week's time.

“The complex should serve as a multipurpose one with proper luggage counters, RO system, and scanning facilities,” he maintained. Later, the EO suggested the post officials follow transparent methodologies in a usage of ghee for preparing laddus. Separate labelling for used and unused ghee should be followed, he directed the concerned.

The EO instructed the IT wing of TTD and TCS to come with an application to rationalise the room blocking system with multiples of six up to 24 hours to enhance transparency in accommodation allotment. Tirumala JEO KS Srinivasa Raju, Additional FACAO Balaji, CE Chandrasekhar Reddy and other senior officials were also present.

The TTD EO on Tuesday inspected the sandalwood plantation near Paruveta Mandapam in Tirumala. Later, he instructed the Deputy Conservator of Forests (TTD) Sivaramprasad to draw an action plan for taking up plantation of sandalwood in 88 hectares of land this year. The TTD had planted sandalwood in 12 acres of land last year.
