Tirupati: Massive security arrangements involving more than 3,500 police personnel of all cadres were made on the occasion of TDP Mahanadu which will be held here for three days from May 27 to 29. With only a day left for the event, the temple town city turns yellow with TDP flags, festoons, arches, flexis and banners welcoming the CM, party leaders and delegates put up all over the city and the illuminated venue has caught the attention of passersby.

According to sources, a big contingent of 3,500 police personnel from the district and also drawn from outside including Kadapa, Nellore and Anantapur district would be deployed for the security, covering the airport at the Renigunta to Tirupati , the places where the VIPs will stay in the city and also Mahanadu venue and also Tirupati to Naravaripalli, where chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will stay for the night at his ancestral home in the village during the three day meet after attending the programmes daily.

DIG J Prabhakar Rao who is camping here for last one week overseeing the arrangements will monitor the security in which five senior police officials in the rank of SP, including Tirupati Urban, Chittoor, Anantapur, Kadapa Jayalakshmi, Srinivas, Rajasekhar and Ramakrishna respectively and also Kranti Rana Tata (CID department) who earlier worked as Chittoor SP in the district.

Meanwhile, TDP sources said that Mahanadu will start at 9 am on Friday. Chief minister and party chief N Chandrababu Naidu will enter the venue from the gate in the North East corner (Eesanyam) following Vasthu and first inaugurate the photo exhibition, showcasing party’s growth and its achievements since its formation in 1982 and later the blood donation camp. He will unfurl the party flag and garland the statue of NT Rama Rao before kick-starting the meet by addressing the delegates.

Elaborate cooling arrangements including fans and air-coolers were set up in the spacious meeting hall. Besides huge LED screen were also set up inside and outside the hall to enable the delegates have a close view of the proceedings of the meeting. Huge image of Buddha, Amaravati, with N T Rama Rao and Chandrababu Naidu on both sides were put up as the background.

TDP Vaidhya Vibhagam district president R Sudharani said that about 3,000 activists are expected to donate blood during the three-day event.
Cultural programmes will also be held with a big contingent of 100 artists from various troupes from the 13 districts. Chittoor MP N Sivaprasad is the incharge of the cultural programmes. .

With only a day left for the Mahandu, the pilgrim city turned yellow with TDP flags, festoons, arches, flexis and banners welcoming the CM, party leaders and delegates put up all over the city while the NMHS , Mahanadu venue glowing with illumination attracting the passers by.
