The Rajya Sabha nominations have begun with four vacancies in AP and two are in Telangana. As YSR Congress is contesting for the one Rajya Sabha seat, the party's General Secretary Vijaya Sai Reddy has filed his nomination papers for Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
The party needs 36 MLAs support for winning the Rajya Sabha seat and YSRCP is left with 50 MLAs after migrations.
Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted a meeting with his party men earlier in the day where he confirmed Vijay Sai Reddy's candidature. Speaking after filing his nomination, Vijay Sai Reddy clarified that he would be contributing more to the party as an MP when compared to his services as a CA.
