On the other side, the government had also evolved best practices to serve people extending wide range of services, he said. He wanted the collectors to apply the technology and extend services to the people and said that collectors have greater powers with district as a unit at their disposal. He wanted them to work with commitment and serve people with dedication.

Stating that the State has long sea coast line, the Chief Minister asked the Collectors to make best use of it and develop the State. He wanted the officials to take Srikakulam district, which is ranked lowest, to the top slot and asked the Ministers, Legislators and other elected members from the district to give ample time to develop the district and increase its rank by the next conference.

Naidu reviewed the implementation of the Neeru-Chettu programme and said that his government had allocated major portion of time and funds for water resources development in the last two years. He said he had evolved a plan to make the State drought-free and asked the collectors to take initiative.

Referring to the tourism sector, the Chief Minister said that the sector would have five hubs for focused development. Infrastructure, Service and Product Projects were getting greater patronage in the tourism sector. The Tourism Principal Secretary Neerab Kumar Prasad told the conference that they have over Rs 11,492 crore worth projects getting ready in the State.

The Chief Minister also told the Collectors to make weekends memorable for the people in all the 13 districts. He wanted them to organise cultural programmes in every town on the weekend. He also directed the officials to promote temple tourism in the State focusing on seven temples including Tirupati, Srisailam, Vijayawada and Simhachalam.
