Visakhapatnam: The city police arrested two youngsters and recovered 180 grams of gold and three motorcycles from them here on Saturday. They were identified as Gorle Pydiraju of Viziaiangaram and Koda Raju of Vizag city.

The modus operandi of the two young men was to observe the locked and isolated houses during the day time and strike at night time. Police said that Pydiraju is a habitual offender and was involved inover 40 burglary cases in Vizag, Vizianagaram and Hyderabad. Pydiraju was arrested several times and released from the Central Prison, Vizag in February, 2016. He resumed his activities after his release on bail.

Pydiraju befriended Koda Raju, an accused in a murder case, at Cenral Prison. Pydiraju burgled the houses under MVP Colony, Pendurthi, Chodavaram and a few other police stations limits in Vizag in between April and May this year and he also stole three bikes.

As both Pydiraju and Raju were addicted to alcohol and other vices they pledged the stolen ornaments to meet their daily bills. Acting on a tip-off, the CCS police nabbed the duo and recovered the gold and bikes from them on Friday when Pydiraju was moving on a bike in Simhachalam area.
