Vijayawada: CPI State Secretary K Ramakrishna here on Monday criticised the BJP for changing its Rajya Sabha candidate from Andhra Pradesh. Ramakrishna said that the BJP had betrayed people of the State by going back on the Special Status, which the party had promised inside the Parliament at the time of bifurcation and during 2014 elections.

However, the party after coming to power at the Centre had made people wait for one year and had finally had gone back on the promise, he said. The BJP had nominated Nirmala Sitaraman from the State to Rajya Sabha in the last elections and had changed her now.
