Kotappakonda is all set to have a ropeway facility. An agency engaged by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation conducted a feasibility study to set up a ropeway and submitted its report to the State government. As soon as the State government gives its nod, the APTDC will call for tenders to set up the ropeway.

At present, the devotees are visiting Sri Trikoteswara Swamy temple by bus and other modes of transportation. If ropeway is laid, it will attract more devotees as well as tourists. APTDC executive director, Vijayawada, B Mallikarjuna Rao said, “An agency engaged by the State government had already conducted a feasibility study to set up a ropeway atop the hill shrine for the convenience of devotees.” He said that the government is yet to take a decision on it.
Trikoteswawara Swamy temple executive officer D Srinivasa Rao said, “If ropeway project is completed, it will be useful for the devotees.” He said that they have a proposal to construct a Pongal Shed and a Kalakshepa Mandapam along with a food court. He said the visitors can spend some quality time at Kalakshepa Mandapam. He said the number of visitors thronging Kottappakonda is on the rise.
Forest department in association with APTDC is planning to develop an eco park at Kotappakonda to attract more tourists. They have set up a huge aquarium and play equipment for children apart from a toy train and a boat riding facility in the park. The APTDC constructed a tank with 4-lakh litres water storage capacity to release water for boat riding facility.
Talking parrots, painted storks and toy train are some of the major attractions. A mini zoo had already been set up for the recreation of children who come to visit temple along with parents. Following instructions from Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, the officials are planning to expand the zoo.
Forest range officer S Hari said that they would develop greenery on both sides of the ghat road. He said that they would raise plantations in five hectares of land near Kotappakonda. It may be recalled here that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu assured that he would take steps to develop Kotappakonda as a major tourist centre at a cost of Rs 25 crore.
