Vijayawada: CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna said the selection of Suresh Prabhu, BJP leader, for Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh has proved that the Telugu Desam and BJP are playing a “double game” and “cheating” the people of the State on special status issue.

Addressing a media conference here on Wednesday, the CPI leader said the Telugu Desam and BJP are indulging in the blame game on the special category status and now the TDP recommending the BJP leader for the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh and the recent incident makes it clear that the two parties are enacting a drama and making false allegations against each other.

He said the BJP leaders have changed the tune that Andhra Pradesh will get separate Railway zone and railway projects if Suresh Prabhu got elected for Rajya Sabha from AP. He said it is shameful that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu instead of fighting with the Central government on special status issue has surrendered before the BJP and helped BJP leader to get elected to Rajya Sabha.

The CPI leader said the Telugu Desam chief has announced in Mahanadu that he would give top priority to SC, ST, BC and Minorities and finally chosen rich political leaders like Sujana Chowdary, T G Venkatesh and Suresh Prabhu for the Rajya Sabha.
