Paucity of funds for construction of approach roads is said to have left idle this very important bridge in the middle of the city planned to connect NH 216 from Zilla Parishad junction area to Saradamaata temple near Women’s Polytechnic for smooth flow of traffic.

According to details available, the ROB was cleared about a decade ago despite stiff resistance from locals in Nageswara Rao Street area and Saradamaata Temple area.

As per the MoU, the railways completed their part of work during the year 2010 -12. But on part of State government, the delay in allocation of funds for completion of approach roads on both sides and the compensation for the households partly affected the execution of approach road works.

The people of Rama Rao Peta and Pratap Nagar area have been the worst sufferers due to frequent traffic problems at Pratap Nagar railway gate.
They are being forced to take the II town ROB to reach their destinations by covering more than one-and-a-half kilometers distance.
