14 injured as bus falls into gorge

About 14 passengers had a miraculous escape and sustained minor injuries when an RTC bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Minumuluru village under Paderu police station limits in the Agency on Thursday. At the time of the accident, there were 24 passengers in the bus which was heading towards Vizag from Paderu.

The police said that driver has lost control of the bus as the steering rod of the bus was said to have broken when the driver tried to make away for another vehicle coming behind, resulting in the bus falling into the gorge. The injured were shifted to a local hospital and discharged after providing first aid. The police registered a case and investigating.
