Visakhapatnam: The Pendurthy police on Thursday filed a case against former MLA and senior leader of the Congress party Dronamraju Srinivas on charges of land grabbing. The Congress leader, along with his 30 followers, entered a 11.68 cents land at Lakshmipuram village under Pendurthy mandal and tried to plant saplings.

The land owners Tirumala Raju and Narsimha Raju objected to his entry and requested him to leave. When he refused to budge, they both went to Pendurthy police station and lodged a complaint. Circle Inspector J Murali visited the spot and questioned Srinivas. He later registered a land grabbing case against him under sections 447, 427 and 504 . The CI told reporters that he would investigate the case and verify the land records to establish ownership of the land.
