Dronam refutes land grabbing charges

Visakhapatnam: Senior Congress leader and former MLA (Visakha South) Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao on Friday refuted the charges of land grabbing levelled against him. The Pendurthy police on Thursday registered a land grabbing case against him. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he claimed he had never done any wrong and would face punishment if found guilty or any offence.

The police claimed that Dronamraju, along with his henchmen encroached 11.68 acres of land near Lakshmipuram area under Pendurthy mandal and tried to plant saplings. Tirumala Raju and Narsimha Raju claimed that they were the genuine owners of the land where Dronamraju tried to grab the valuable land.

Dismissing the allegations, Dronamraju claimed that the land has been under their ownership for the past 40 years and recently four people tried to occupy the land with forged documents. Exhibiting the documents to the media, the former MLA alleged that some TD leaders have been supporting the land grabbers in the city and demanded the police to verify the documents of the lands to establish the genuine of ownership.
