The Met office also attributed the heavy rainfall to the upper air cyclonic circulation over the west-central Bay of Bengal and off the AP coast lying over the west-central Bay off north coastal AP and the south Odissa coast.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded elsewhere in the State were: Bhimadole, Sullurpeta, Puttur 5 each, Pulivendla, Tanuku 4 each, Polavaram, Avanigada, Jangamaheswarapuram, Repalle, Amalapuram, Cumbum, Mangalagiri,Veligandla, Atmakur, Anantapur and Tirupati Airport 3 each. There was two cm each of rain in Sattenapalle, Bheemavaram, Paderu, Macherla, Venkatagiri, Prakasam Barrage, Bestavaripeta, Rapur, Guntur, Satyavedu, Kadiri, Tirumala, Kadiri, Amarapuram and Nagari.

The Met forecast on Monday warned of heavy rainfall with thunderstorm and squall occurring at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East & West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore (coastal Andhra Pradesh), Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool (Rayalaseema) on June 7. It said light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely at many places in the coastal districts and Rayalaseema from June 7 to 10.
