Visakhapatnam: Minister for Civil Supplies Paritala Sunitha announced that monthly ration would be delivered to the homes of senior citizens and physically challenged persons all over the State shortly.

In a review meeting with the officials of her department, here on Monday, the Minister said a pilot project on home delivery was launched in Anantapur, her home district on experimental basis, and it was a huge success.

The system, similarly, would be launched all over the State for the convenience of the people who are unable to collect their rations, she said. The dealers would send the items along with the bills.

Sunitha asked the dealers to collect the data of these two sections of the people which include particulars of the ration card, Aadhaar card and photographs. She told the officials of legal metrology department to conduct surprise checks on fertilisers, cement and ration dealers and file 10 to 12 cases every day.
