GAIL Executive Director M V Ayyar, Chief Manager Ch K N V Kanna Rao, ONGC Executive Director D Sanyal, GGM T S Rao, GM P V Satish Kumar, DGM A S Reddy, DGM (Production) I V S Dattu and Pipeline CMD T Varghese met the Chief Minister at his camp office here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister appealed to ONGC and GAIL officials to prepare proposals to set up an oil refinery at Machilipatnam as both the agencies were going for exploration of oil and gas in Krishna basin.

The officials said that a proposal was made to set up an LPG plant at Nagayalanka in Krishna district. Naidu asked the officials to pass on information over availability of oil and gas in Krishna basin. He said that the government is concentrating on improving logistic facilities in the State.

The officials said gas pipeline works at a stretch of 617 km are under progress out of 933 km in KG basin. Another 316 km pipeline works are yet to be started. They said gas dehydration units were present in Pasarlapudi, Mori, Narsapuram, Mandapeta and Gopavaram in the State.

Another four units would be set up at Kesanapalli, Yandamuru, Tatipaka and KPDA regions. They explained about the remote controlling of main gas pipeline valve and leak detection system.
