He also suggested the officials to develop one model school in each mandal with bio-fence. 

Kakinada: As most government schools in the district do not have a compound wall of their own, bio fences would be erected at schools under NREGS programme said District Collector H Arun Kumar.

Addressing a review meet with education officials at the Collectorate here on Friday, the Collector said 172 schools would be covered in first phase and each school would be provided with plants manure and maintenance cost of Rs 15 per plant per month. He also suggested the officials to develop one model school in each mandal with bio-fence.

He said one crore plants would be planted in the schools in the district this year and nurseries are being raised in 122 schools.

The Collector requested the officials to form school committees to plant and protect the saplings and to work as green ambassadors. While reviewing the ongoing works of NTR Jalasiri he requested the groundwater department officials to cover 56 villages by June 20.

He also directed the officials to work in coordination with Transco department for providing power connection for borewells. DEO Narasimha Rao SSA PO T V S G Kumar DWMA PD A Nageswara Rao and others were present at the meeting.

Earlier the Collector conducted counselling for 15 newly appointed doctors at his chamber. He advised them to work with commitment to extend best medical care for the rural masses. He said that their attendance would be monitored through biometric system. DMHO Dr Uma sundari was present.
