Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa said that the arrests in Tuni arson case were made after thorough investigation and added that it was not justifiable to instigate Kapu community. He appealed to the Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham to end his fast.

Speaking to mediapersons at CM camp office here on Friday, the deputy Chief Minister expressed concern over Mudragada for not extending cooperation for treatment. He said that government would consider transferring the case to CBI, if Mudragada ends his fast.

He said that the Kapu leader was not in a position to understand that the TDP government was committed for the welfare of Kapu community and ready to include Kapus in BC list and added that there was no impact of bandh call given by Kapu leaders over the arrest of Mudragada.

Mocking the Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy over his extension of support to Mudragada, Chinarajappa questioned on why he hasn’t done the same during the Congress’ regime. “Jagan is against development and is instigating people against government,” he alleged and appealed to Kapu leaders to not to fall in Jagan’s trap.

He said that the government has respect for Mudragada and his family but they will not sit quiet, if they cause inconvenience to people through agitations. Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana said that majority of the arrested are rowdy sheeters and belong to YSRCP. “It is not correct on the part of Mudragada to threaten the government by holding a pesticide bottle,” he added.

“Why has not Mudragada launched the agitation during YSR regime? Why he sat on fast even though the TDP government appointed Manjunatha commission to include Kapus in backward classes,” he questioned and appealed to Mudragada to drop the indefinite fast and extend cooperation to government.
