​Tirupati: The district leaders of Autorickshaw Drivers Union affiliated to CITU took part in a conference held in Puttur, 40 km from here on Friday.

They criticised the BJP-led NDA government and also the TDP-BJP government for neglecting the employees of unorganised sector.

CITU district general secretary K Murali said that scores of young graduates, post graduates and even technical diploma holders turning as auto drivers.

He said that the educated youth becoming auto drivers as NDA and TDP governments miserably failed to generate jobs as promised in their election manifesto.

He stated that the NDA government is benefitting the corporate sector than the workers and employees of the unorganised sector.

Autorickshaw Drivers Union State president Subhan said that union is making efforts to create awareness among the autorickshaw drivers across the State for fighting against harassment of police and RTA officials.

He stated that union will impress upon the State government to take up measures for welfare of autorickshaw drivers’ families. Earlier, a rally was taken out in the town. CITU district secretary V Ganga Raju and others also spoke.
