Vizianagaram: The government staff who are completely eligible for transfers are trying to meet the leaders like MLAs, MLCs and other to get postings of their choice. Unlike in the previous days, the government has handed over the responsibility of transfers completely to District Collector to minimise the political involvement.
In the previous years, political leaders like ZP chairman, MLAs, In-charge minister and others had played vital role in this process. They could influence the officers and could give good postings to their henchman and sympathisers. Apart from this, even money also could play some role in these transfers.
Now, the government has given all the responcibilities to Collectors and framed norms to finish the process by June 20. As per the time-table, the staff who have completed five years of service in same place are eligible for transfer and they can submit their applications by June 14. The process will start on June 15.
