The summer coaching camp for students organised by Global Chess Academy in the city from April 16, concluded on Sunday. About 100 students in four batches attended the camp. Speaking at the valedictory, Global Academy secretary and FIDE instructor Shaik Khasim said the camp was organised to promote the game of chess in a big way in the capital region, which helps increase the memory power of students.

About 60 players took part in a chess tournament conducted as part of the summer camp and they played five rounds. Sowjanya Ram, K Prem and Syam Immanuel stood first, second and third respectively in the chess tournament. Prizes were given away to the winners of chess tournament at the valedictory of the summer camp. Participation certificates were also distributed. Parents of students were present on the occasion.
